== History ==

As a preadolescent on [[rec.arts.comics.xbooks]], Joe was heavily involved in fandom. When his mutant [[retcon]]ning abilities emerged, he found to his horror that reality was reconfiguring itself to match his musings. Despite the efforts of a certain school for gifted youngsters, he fell into a catatonic depression and reflexively retconned himself from his original [[newsgroup]] into [[alt.comics.lnh]].

In his new history, he became the cousin of [[Limp-Asparagus Lad]] and aged 5 years. Although he became enamoured with another net.hero, [[Fourth Wall Lass]], Joe refused to become a member of the LNH due to subconscious remembrances of his past on r.a.c.xbooks. However, when his true past became apparent (in ''[[Limp-Asparagus Lad (series)|Limp-Asparagus Lad]]'' #5), he threw up his hands and gave in.

In at least one of these histories, participated at a young age in a religiously-motivated mob assault on a mutant, leading to the aforementioned hatred of fundamentalism.

During ''[[Beige Midnight]]'', he and [[Anal-Retentive Archive Kid]] tricked [[Irony Man]] into sending them and several other heroes off on an international mission, where they formed the [[Bicycle Liberation Front]] and were instrumental in deposing [[Hex Luthor]].

Is currently going to college for accountancy as well as net.heroing part-time.

Has been killed by [[Kiwis]] at least twice.

== Personality ==

Usually fun-loving, irreverent, and a bit fanboyish. A bit of a reluctant net.hero. Retcon Lad has a tendency to get so wrapped up in an idea that his line of thought may go off on a tangent, such that he has to be reminded what the main point of the discussion is.

Once, he lapsed into black moods due to angst energy from Nicieza's Sledgehammer of Angst™, left over from his origin as a fanfic character on [[rec.arts.comics.xbooks]]. However, he has gained control over the angst matrix, and can turn it on and off at will.

Baptist. Has a hatred of religious fundamentalism stemming from an incident in his past.

== Powers and Abilities ==

[[Retcon]]ning powers, including reflexive self-resurrection. Retcon Lad doesn't usually use them to their full extent for fear of damaging reality. Can physically summon Nicieza's Sledgehammer of Angst™, but he's gonna feel ratshit terrible afterwards.

== Appearance ==

Shoulder-length brown hair. Weedy physique. Wears a brown and tan jumpsuit with a brown bandanna mask. Refuses to wear spandex.
