rec.arts.comics was the newsgroup that the Cosmic Plot Device Caper and other very early LNH stories originally appeared on. It was split in the Great RMGrouping into the rec.arts.comics.* hierarchy, including rec.arts.comics.misc and rec.arts.comics.creative.
In universe, RAC was destroyed by the X-Chequer, which meant the retconning out of the Dvandom Dial that created this being caused a time paradox which had to be resolved in The Bellerophon Gambit. During The Comics Connection, RAClipso used its shattered fragments as part of a plot to gain control of the members of the LNH with comic-book-based powers.
