rec.arts.prose was a Usenet newsgroup dedicated to short works of fiction and discussion thereof.
During Looniverse Adrift!, Lord Ebon had directed the unstable Looniverse to comp.sources.unix and was using the Looniverse's loose natural laws to tap into the newsgroup's code-based power. Parking Karma Kid, using a modified Universal Anchor, drove the Looniverse to rec.arts.prose, where the tighter rules of the literary-criticism-based newsgroup locked down Lord Ebon's abilities.
rec.arts.prose has dwindled to almost no traffic, but can still be read and posted to here.
