- The space elevators were roads into the sky. Where would they lead?
One of the differences between our world and the Looniverse is the existence of space elevators. Space exploration is considerably more advanced there than in our world. Asteroid mining is a going prospect, interplanetary travel is available in governmental, commercial, and net.heroic forms, and interstellar trips, while rare, are not unknown. Most people have still never left the surface of the Earth, but humanity has touched the stars.
There are two connecting the Looniearth to the stars, one in the Western hemisphere, one in the Eastern:
- The Beanstalk, in Brazil, topped by High Castle.
- The Heavenly Fulcrum, in Kenya, largely backed and administered by China and guarded by the Titanium Swordsman.
They are constructed and maintained by Milky Way Technologies, a company run by Galatea.
