Bill Sherman wrote a post on rec.arts.comics where he credited himself as "Spelling Boy", inspiring Dan'l Danehy-Oakes to come up with the idea of the LNH.

He posted quite a bit in the early roleplay threads, though none of his posts made it into the story that congealed into the Cosmic Plot Device Caper. He made the leap to the post-Two-and-a-Half Month Gap LNH, but retired after his character was torn apart by wild dogs.
