By a trick of fate and the laziness of mapmakers, Ereh.WAN was left off of maps, and for generations, the populace suffered. A breeding program involving the Net.ragen Mists was introduced, to produce those who would be able to fight against their disenfranchisement – but it failed, and only one of its creations stabilized – the man named Cabell.
He came to Net.ropolis to destroy the Map District, and ran into Miss Translation, Cheesecake-Eater Lad, Time-Waster Lad and The Normalizer, who managed to slow him down long enough to get him talking. He allowed himself to be taken into custody so he could launch an awareness program for Ereh.WAN's existence.
After serving some time, he managed to get diplomatic immunity as Ereh.WAN's representative, and Lamar Dunston helped him set up an embassy in the Abandoned Warehouse District.
