In the Real World, lurking is reading the posts on a discussion board without posting yourself.
In the Looniverse, lurking is the net.ahuman ability of characters like Lurking Girl and Invisible Incendiary to go invisible and/or intangible. Some have tied this ability to the Lurkforce Dimension (AKA the Lurker Zone), and the Intangible Legion and/or Invisible-Intangible-Inaudible Lass's powers/curse may also be related.
In the mystical system of the Net.elements, Lurking is the net.element of Darkness.
