rec.org.sca is a newsgroup dedicated to the Society for Creative Anachronism. The Crossover Queen was stranded here for a time. Presumably, it's a medieval fantasy sort of world.
The group remains active to this day, albiet at a very low level, and can be read here or on your local newsreader.
