rec.pets.dogs was the newsgroup dedicated to all aspects of canine pets.

During Looniverse Adrift!, while the Looniverse was careening across the Usenetverse, it passed through rec.pets.dogs, and the population of Net.ropolis turned into anthropomorphic canines.

Much like rec.arts.comics, rec.pets.dogs was split into multiple groups with more specific topics. Still, the archives can be viewed here.
