W.H.A.T.E.V.E.R.

W.H.A.T.E.V.E.R. is the World Headquarters for Anarchy, Terrorism, Evil, Vengeance, Extermination and Retribution, a shadowy organization headed by the evil supercomputer Ultravac. It has a retro-future aesthetic reminiscent of Original Star Trek, relying on highly advanced technology based on magnetic tape and such. It can do far more than normal advanced technology but is also highly prone to breaking.

When social media sites started moderating and showing content based on algorithms with no human input, Ultravac was on hand to shape this content. Within six months, W.H.A.T.E.V.E.R. controlled America via the information that its citizens saw. They enforced this control via S.P.A.M.M.E.R., a government anti-terrorism initiative using the Newsreavers, combat cyborgs.
