Maurice Beyke was the creator of Comics Snob Boy, one of the participants in the first round of the Cosmic Plot Device Caper. He died in a car crash in 2000, meaning that, in a somewhat disturbing coincidence, the creator of the one CPDC-era LNHer who died and stayed dead is also dead in the Real World.
