Cascaders
The Cascaders are a race of cyborg aliens native to alt.cascade. They were created by Jef Kolodziej and first appeared in The CrossOver Caper.
History
The Cascaders have attempted to assimilate alt.comics.lnh multiple times. When they first appeared, they were lead by a mysterious shadowy figure, which was eventually revealed to be Obscure Trivia Lad's fellow android Obscure Lore Lad.
They briefly managed to assimilate Kid Kirby, Multi-Tasking Man, and Old Comics Man before they were changed back. Eight of Nine is one known individual Cascader.
Powers and Abilities
They fly around in cube-shaped ships – specifically, cubes with nine colored squares on each side, of six different colors[1]. They have the ability to act as one unified mind, maintained by continuous subspace email, and try to assimilate people into their collective; however, this makes them collectively vulnerable to flamewars. They can spout off rhymes for "assimilate" for hours.
Context
The Cascaders are, of course, parodies of the Borg from Star Trek. They were created after alt.cascade posters started mass-spamming alt.comics.lnh.
