rec.humor.oracle is a newsgroup based around the Internet Oracle, who was both an omniscient dude with a short temper and an interactive way to pair up silly questions with snappy answers.

Fan.Boy and Retcon Lad traveled there to understand the nature of Fan.Boy's counterparts (one of whom was an annoying fan of the Oracle). Their quest ended there, as they actually managed to get a straight answer out of the Oracle – albeit one that only left more questions...

During her attemped takeover of Usenet, the Crossover Queen beheaded the Internet Oracle and enchanted his head to serve her. However, she had a much harder time getting useful answers.

The Internet Oracle is still going, and rec.humor.oracle can still be read and posted to here; it's moderated, and all posts will go straight to the Oracle himself.
