Action Lord is a typo-tastic net.villain created by Dave Van Domelen. | |
Alter Ego: | Richard Franklins |
Aliases: | Sig.Lad |
Primary Writer: | Dave Van Domelen |
Status: | Talk show host |
Usability: | Usable With Permission |
History
One version of Sig.Lad was deeply annoyed with a GIF of himself. Not only did it show him being humiliated by Acton Lord, but his costume had been green in the first version and red in the second – and as anyone who's read the Dark Phoenix Saga knows, a costume changing from green to red signals a fall to the dark side! He happened to be holding a piece of the Cosmic Plot Device at the time (fancy that), and transformed – no, not into Acton Lord, but Action Lord, the weekend warrior!
He leapt back in time and gleefully started doing things that Acton Lord would be blamed for, but Acton Lord took him out with a slideshow on athletic injuries. The Action Lord persona was expelled from his body, but took a life of its own, taking an armchair athlete as his host.
Acton Lord performed various atrocities on his person during Beige Noon, but we, the readers, aren't allowed to know the details. Jerk.
During the Bellerophon Gambit, he worked with Acton Lord to control the amazing cosmic power of the Pega.SYS, but was captured by the Fan.dom of the Alt.ra. Acton Lord bartered to get him back, and then used him to control and corrupt Myk-El.
Eventually, the rest of the Acton Lord clones died or faded away, and Acton Lord himself moved on to other things. Action Lord turned his back on supervillainy and began a surprisingly successful career as a talk show host. He showed up in Dvandom Force Annual #2 to present various exceptionally silly scenes.
Personality
Sort of like Acton Lord, but lazier and addicted to spectator sports. Speaks in a ridiculous, over-the-top Brooklyn accent.
Powers and Abilities
Master planner. Can possess people. Is an alt.version of Acton Lord and Sig.Lad, allowing him some knowledge of their thoughts and condition.
Appearance
Incorporeal; gives a shadowy aura to whomever he's possessing, though this can be suppressed.
Appearances
- First Appearance (as a typo): Cosmic Plot Device Caper (version including post-Two-and-a-Half Month Gap posts)
- First Appearance (as an actual character): Netlurker Adventures
- Bellerophon Gambit
- Dvandom Force Annual #2
