rec.games.frp.dnd is a newsgroup dedicated to the game where you simulate being a fantasy adventurer by rolling a ridiculous number of dice. With D&D having had a strong impact on the collective nerd imagination, many elements from rec.games.frp.dnd have found their way into the Looniverse. Munchkin Man originates from here, as do the Giant Radioactive Hamsters From A Planet Far Beyond Mars.
In recent years, the Crossover Queen's pan-Usenet wars have disrupted the ecology of rec.games.frp.dnd (along with rec.games.roguelike.nethack), driving many of its monsters and other inhabitants into other dimensions – including the subbasements of various LNHQs. This has created a number of problems.
It is still active, though it mainly seems to be used for, ah, posting game binaries? It can be read here, or on your local newsreader.
