History

[Note: Tom Russell has elsewhirled the original Teenfactor series, so some or all of Miss Calico's original history may no longer be canon.]

Marie Smith's mother was an elf with quite a bit of shapeshifting magic. She turned into a cat, found a paramour, and not long after, Miss Calico was born, half-elf and half-cat. Naturally enough, she became a net.hero.

According to some accounts, she was a founding member of the LNH who left before the Cosmic Plot Device Caper; according to others, she was never a member at all. She definitely seems to have been active from sometime before the founding of the LNH, helping in the battle against General Jarrek, to about a year after. During this period, she was courted by a young, charming man, a super-scientist – Doctor Killfile. On his wedding night he arranged for Marie to meet him and Caron Forge, his fiancee, then called off the wedding and raped them both. (I know, this isn't supposed to be that kind of wiki. I'm sorry.)

Both Marie and Caron became pregnant and gave birth. Then, just to make things more confusing, Dr. Killfile switched those kids, giving Marie's child, Carolyn Forge, to Caron to raise, and taking Caron's child, Deliah, for himself. If Marie had been an LNHer before, she either left or was booted out now.

At the age of ten, Deliah managed to get back into her life, having run away from Dr. K; she left her possessions with Marie and then went drifting around the country. Years later, Carolyn, now the superhero known as Aero Lass, managed to find out about her – but Killfile returned as well, setting a trap. They went to the LNH for help, but only Easily-Discovered Man and Lite were willing, and the bad Doctor was defeated – for now.

The LNH helped set Marie up with a new life as a stewardess. It wasn't quite a peaceful one, though, and she teamed up with Carolyn once more to stop a hijacking on her plane by the League of Disgruntled Post Office Workers.
