History

The Chessman had an admittedly unique way of creating an army. He would hire a sidekick from Sidekicks'R'Us under a false, chess-themed identity, then brainwash them and turn them into one of his Zomkicks. But when Jack Serious escaped his clutches, the Sidekick Squad saw the Zomkicks trying to recapture him, thus beginning the Crisis of Infinite Sidekicks.

His downfall came when he sent the Zomkickified Echo Lad against Pliable Lad. When Echo Lad resisted his control, the Chessman tried to just shoot Pliable Lad, but Echo Lad bounced one of the bullets back and killed him.

Personality

Megalomaniacal. Loved talking to himself.
