History
The man known as Spud was once a USDA agent who snapped and went rogue after being augmented by their secret 'Tubermensch' program. An early attempt to recapture him led to him falling in a vat of boiling vegetable oil. He managed to escape, but the experience fried his brain and sent his cholesterol level through the roof.
Was hired to take out Schwa Khan and finger Baron Umlaut in the process, but ran into trouble against Dvandom Force when his gritty '90s crime-noir genre ran smack up against their colorful Silver Age-y (so he called it) superheroism.
Personality
Has a rather detached viewpoint, typical of tough guys.
Powers and Abilities
A hybrid of man and potato, with all the powers of both species. Admittedly, that's not much. Has a limited ability to change shape, great resistance to harm, and the ability to fire pellets of his own body at hypersonic speeds.
Appearance
Fried.
Context
Modern-day audiences might not realize that he's a parody of classic indie comics character Scud: The Disposable Assassin.
