History
Roger Van Darne joined the LNH as Rescue Lad alongside Search Lass during the Robot Invasion. He helped to defeat both the MAC Empire and the Master of the Net.
During the Crisis of Infinite Sidekicks, he spoke to a mysterious voice called TODD, which gave him information and transported threatened bystanders out of harm's way. Eventually, it was revealed that he was actually Roger Rescue, a freelance do-gooder who had often helped out during disasters and emergencies. After Pliable Lad's wedding, he went back to that lifestyle.
Currently, roams the world in his airship, searching for disasters and accidents so he can help in rescue efforts.
Personality
Normally, thoughtful and careful, but as Roger Rescue, often falls into an over-the-top heroic persona, charging in and stopping at nothing. (Which often leads to him being the first one KO'd.)
Powers and Abilities
Expert at search & rescue. Paramedic.
Has an airship controlled by an AI known as TODD, with emergency teleport capability, a highly-advanced medical bay, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a significant amount of onboard supplies, among other accoutrements.
As Rescue Lad, used TODD and his airship's resources to pretend that he could manifest any power necessary to rescue people from physical danger.
Appearance
Looks uncannily like Andrew Van Horn (DC's Gunfire).
As Roger Rescue, wears a white jumpsuit with red markings on the shoulders, a thin, blue stripe going down the front of the suit, a blue stripe on the outside of each leg, blue belt, white boots, and a white helmet. As Rescue Lad, wore a simpler blue-and-white costume.
Relationships
Former partner of Search Lass.
