alt.horror.cthulhu is the Usenet newsgroup dedicated to the works of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos in general.
In-story, Occultism Kid traveled there along with RosterwReam and the August One to retrieve the Net.ronomicon. It was a seemingly-normal landscape, but with horrific, mind-shattering secrets hidden under every sewer grate – a place where even a normal florist could delve into secrets dark enough to summon the undying bush with a thousand blossoms: Shrub-Niggarauth!
Though traffic has fallen off from the glory days, the group still maintains a consistent level of activity. (That is not dead which – nah, too obvious.) It can be read and posted to here.
