The Reversion Ray Projector is a Plot Device that can be used to regress a character back to a previous point in meta-continuity.
History
Created by W.I.R.E.D., it was first used in Limp-Asparagus Lad #4 as a test to revert Retcon Lad to the version of him from a certain mutant-based franchise. W.I.R.E.D. then turned it on L-A Lad, intending to revert him to Dark Limp-Asparagus Lad, but Fourth Wall Lass stepped in its way, reverting to her previous incarnation, Kid Not Appearing In Any Retcon Hour Story, who defeated W.I.R.E.D and took the Ray to the Legion Trophy Room. It was also revealed that the plan wouldn't have worked, as L-A Lad had a pre-Retcon Hour incarnation between Dark Limpy and his current self.
It wasn't seen again until Digital JUMP! #11, where Phoenix Down used a miniaturized version in an attempt to increase sales by bringing characters back from the dead. This time, Kid Enthusiastic jumped in front of it, returning him to his author's previous attempt at LNH protagonists, Library Lad and Weirdo Boy. The full-sized version was used later to return Kid E to existence.
In Ultimate Mercenary #7, the characters time-traveled into Mutton Mania, where Ultimate Mercenary was turned into a sheep. They went to use the Reversion Ray Projector to change him back, but were attacked by Vector Time and her army of Vector-troll-sheep in the Trophy Room. During the battle, the shadowy, phased-out-of-reality figure of Sentry appeared, and Victoria Arden used the Projector on her, changing her back to Net.Access. She triumphed against the trollsheep, but Vector Time gained the upper hand, and they were swept on through time, leaving the Projector behind.
Description
A huge contraption, looking something like a cross between a mobile but bulky TV studio camera and an anti-tank gun that had then been covered in bizarre, almost Kirbian technology.
