History
Algernon Heckman was offered the chance to serve The Werk (actually Master Workload) in exchange for power, becoming Net.us, the Werk's personal assassin against any who offended its sense of order and productivity. He found this to be a devil's bargain, and tried many times to retire, but was always dragged back in.
When Skysabre entered Imnotsure, Net.us was sent to destroy him in the name of protecting reality, and was only prevented from doing so by tricking him into thinking he already had.
Later, when Master Workload fought sig.ma to gain the power of the Mechanical Author, Net.us took part in a proxy battle against the Interdimensional Digestive Biscuit – but the battle was cut short when sig.ma showed its true power.
