Comedy is the natural and necessary counter-force to Drama. Its workings are not as well-understood as those of Drama by scientists of impossible physics, but it is necessary to the functioning of the Looniverse. For all its forays into drama, horror and adventure, silliness is what the LNH's world fundamentally runs on.
The forces of Comedy and Drama exist in balance, and when that balance is disrupted, the worlds of the Omnilooniverse can suffer dire consequences. When Psychovant the Duck visited the Tooniverse, he disrupted the balance, causing that world to become excessively Comedic, with a few, such as Atomic Rabbit, taking the Drama into themselves to protect it and suffering from excessively Dramatic fates because of it. Atomic Rabbit went with the Kubrik's Kube to confront Psychovant over it, but it's not known if the imbalance was ever corrected.
Overly Dramatic events in the Real World, as well as in the Writers' personal lives, can sometimes threaten the Looniverse's balance of Comedy and Drama. In the wake of the Dramatic imbalance caused by September 11th attacks (see Limp-Asparagus Lad #55), Baby Pain stole the Clogs of Comedy from the Godmaker and threatened to plunge the LNH into a neverending vortex of drama, but was defeated by the fundamental silliness of her opponents.
Similarly, in the post-pandemic years, the Looniverse was threatened because it was becoming less dramatic than Real Life. In a conclave with the Living Moderator, Kid Occultism Kid proposed that the only way to deal with this was to unleash the force of Comedy, making the LNH not only more dramatic than Real Life, but sillier! This lead to the (both very dramatic and very silly) events of Hungry, Hungry Sabertooths!
