History

Obscure Trivia Lad was one of the earliest LNHers. Unfortunately, he was easily confused with the other trivia-based characters. So, when the Grim Reaper Corps was supposed to have Trivia Master snuffed, Pointless Death Man accidentally killed OTL.

However, the need for cosmic balance being what it is, etc., etc., OTL was returned to life by Doctor Killfile in the body of a liquid metal shapechanger. Once freed from the bad Doctor, he served admirably as Continuity Champ's sidekick and eventually joined the Drizzt's Defenders. Here, he found his loyalties divided, as the Evil Alternate Ultimate Ninja tried to force OTL to spy on the DDs. However, OTL did his best to avoid such a conflict of interest.

When CC retired and the Drizzt left earth, OTL returned to the LNH. He became a stalwart background character, always on hand to deliver exposition, participate in a mass fight scene, or back up the main hero...

...until Beige Midnight revealed that his shapeshifting android body was powered by a chunk of the Cosmic Plot Device. As Hex Luthor gathered the pieces in his quest for ultimate power, OTL sacrificed himself to defeat the cosmic menace.

A few years later[1], OTL returned, with absolutely, positively no explanation about how he had been brought back to life. He was still a liquid metal android, but the chunk of the Cosmic Plot Device was gone. He rejoined the LNH and continued on, fighting the good fight, carrying that mystery with him...

...until the battle between the West Coast Brotherhood and the East Coast Brotherhood of Net.Villains, when it was revealed that the second Doctor Killfile had been the one to bring him back to life, serving as an unknowing spy on the LNH! She used him to kill Captain Continuity, then used the Kubrik's Kube that had been powering his body for her own insidious purposes!

But when Occultism Kid transcended the physical plane, Obscure Trivia Lad was summoned to his side, as the one his spirit was most closely linked to. The two merged bodily, and were sent on a new quest by VAMMO Woman, to the Deep Omnilooniverse...

Personality

OTL is slightly naive, never quite getting some of the remarks that are made about him. He is friendly toward most everyone. His distinguishing trait is that he always refers to himself in the third person.

While he's good at remembering useless information, he has a nasty tendency to forget important information.

Powers and Abilities

Originally, solely the ability to remember bits of useless trivia. After his resurrection, OTL possessed a shapechanging liquid metal android body, which made him capable of lots of stuff.

Currently, is human again, but due to his Constellation-y merger with Occultism Kid, probably has a lot of neat cosmic powers.

Appearance

Given that he's a shapechanger, anything he wants to look like. Usually appeared as a 5'8" humanoid male in a yellow costume with brown and orange trim (no cape). Probably looks kind of starry now.

Relationships

Has always had a close (if vaguely-defined) relationship to Occultism Kid, which is now very close.

Obscure Lore Lad considers him his brother, since both their bodies were built by Doctor Killfile.
