History

Godd Fodder lived in the senselessly violent newsgroup of alt.fan.bugtown, a fan group for the senselessly violent comic Those Obnoxious Post Brothers. He sought revenge on the Crosspost Brothers for killing his brother, and created a device to block the regenerative powers of Bugtowners. But when his device was destroyed, he internalized that regenerative nature – and when he went to alt.comics.lnh seeking to take advantage of the Legion's technical prowess, a series of comedic deaths left him without memories. The LNH took him in, and he became Cannon Fodder! (See also The Origin of Cannon Fodder.)

He became a central member of the LNH, filling out away teams due to his indestructible nature and showing up whenever it would be funny for him to die comedically.

During Infinite April, Cannon Fodder returned to alt.fan.bugtown and found out the truth behind his origin and his connection to the Looniversal Force of Senseless Violence. (He had already returned in Johnny Fearless, but over the years he forgot about it again.) Since, he's been a more active fighter, and though he dies just as much, it's often while he's charging into battle!

Personality

Battle-hardened, sometimes weary and resigned. Confident in battle, due to his connection to Senseless Violence and his immortality. Before he reconnected to Senseless Violence, he was more nervous, especially in combat situations – if you died every time there was a fight, you would be, too. He also felt depressed over feeling the LNH didn't value him enough, seeing him as disposable, but he's grown more confident in his place in the Legion.

Powers and Abilities

Ability to come back after death, usually in the very next issue. Also, tends to attract death in massive quantities.

Originally, these deaths would cause memory loss (which could accumulate over time, making him forget important things, like his whole pre-LNH life). Also, he would appear where he was killed; later, he unconsciously "adjusted" this to appear in the LNHQ's Peril Room instead.

After his connection to Senseless Violence was strengthened, he gained some control; he can choose whether he respawns where he died or in the Peril Room, and he no longer suffers memory loss. As a consequence of recovering his memories, he also recovered his pre-Cannon-Fodder scientific genius, although due to his connection to Senseless Violence, he can only use it to its full extent when working on weaponry and other violence-related things.

His many years of fighting and dying have given him a battle-tested sense of strategy.

Appearance

Orange and yellow costume, with no mask or cape. Permanently young, with curly brown hair and green eyes.

Relationships

Brother of Doornail. In the alt.ernate future of LNH2, godfather to Tree-Hugging Kid.

Used to hang out with Parking Karma Kid, Cheesecake-Eater Lad, and wReamhack, in an informal Subgroup they referred to as "the wReam Pack", but it drifted apart after Cheesecake-Eater Lad got married.

Appearances

Note: The Origin of Ultimate Ninja contains a villainous character named Cannon Fodder, who doesn't seem to be the same character but has a related "dying a lot" schtick. There's no story in the archives where a heroic Cannon Fodder premiers, so this may just be where the idea came from.
