Alter Ego: Brad Thomas Boyd
Aliases: Unlucky Lad
Primary Writer: None
Status: Member of the LNH (Classic Team), former member of Generation Y, former member of Teenfactor

History

Late for school, Brad Thomas Boyd cut through a dark alley one fateful day and witnessed Lurking Girl apprehending The Man With the Black Hat. By helping the early LNHers, he was made an honorary member of the team. It wasn't until several years later, though, that he became a true member of the team; when Marvel Zombie Lad put out the call to battle Doctor Killfile, Brad responded— but arrived too late, after everything had already taken place. Nevertheless, Lurking Girl and the others offered him membership in the LNH, an offer which he accepted, taking the name of Bad-Timing Boy.

One of his greatest adventures was in It's All In the Timing, when a beautiful woman showed up and started trying to kill him!

Later, he joined a subgroup for training younger members, Generation Y. For a time, he worked for Jennifer Frost as a member of Teenfactor[1].

As time has gone by, he has become one of the stalwart mainstays of the LNH.

Personality

Bad-Timing Boy was the youngest member of the LNH immediately following the Cosmic Plot Device Caper, so he tends to look up to the older members of the LNH. At the same time, he tends to look down on some of the newer, younger members of the LNH, even as they look to him for inspiration (yes, there's a lot of looking going on while he's around).

He is very confident in himself, despite his tendency towards making mistakes. He has a tendency to charge into things with perhaps more enthusiasm than is warranted, but by the same token, keeps trying even when failure raises its ugly head.

Powers and Abilities

The ability to say the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time. Bad-Timing Boy has also exhibits probability-altering abilities which result in whatever he least wants to happen happening; occasionally, he's been able to usefully focus this power.

Appearance

Black hair, green eyes. Wears a green tunic with black pants and a red cape (ideal for tripping over, attracting attention from enraged bulls, etc).

Relationships

Shares a strong camaraderie with Captain Continuity as former members of Generation Y.

His alternate-universe counterparts include Good-Timing Girl of the Oddball Legion (who is not to be confused with the Good-Timing Girl of Valhal).

Awards

For the 2005 RACCies, he was awarded RACCies:Favorite Supporting Character. Which says it all, really.

Appearances

Footnotes

  1. Although, as Teenfactor's author has Elsewhirled the series, it's uncertain whether this still happened.
